A note from auntjoy ...                                      

Several years ago I decided to replace our family Christmas Stockings. I wanted hand-crafted stockings like my grandmother used to make, with festive designs depicting the fun and charm of an old-fashioned Christmas.

I searched for three years in catalogs, specialty stores, malls and craft shows. I could not find a Personalized Christmas Stocking handcrafted in the USA, with the quality, durability, and craftsmanship I envisioned. I decided to create a line of Christmas stockings “Like Grandma Used To Make." I was sure there were others like me, who were searching for tomorrow's family heirlooms... and since it was the 90's, most Grandmas were working and didn't  have time to sew. As a result, Joyful Designs was established in 1994 in America's heartland, carrying a complete line of Aunt Joy's Personalized Christmas Stockings.

I make each and every stocking and no two are exactly alike, and just like Grandma, I sew a little love into each and every stitch. I machine-stitch and hand-stitch all the designs and I pride myself on quality and service. So if you have a question, a problem or need something specially designed, just call.

Many of my first customers have come back to order stockings again and again, for a new baby in the family, or for Christmas gifts to family members. I make stockings all year long and it's great fun to attend a bridal shower or baby shower in June and give Christmas stockings for a gift, it's always a big hit.
